My name is Rachel Wright and I have over 20 years experience working within a listening profession. I have over 20 years experience working within a listening profession. I am a qualified counsellor and I am also a tutor on the counselling foundation degree program with Middlesex university helping new therapists to learn and develop their skills. I have previously worked as a nurse for many years, giving me a wealth of experience in trauma and bereavement.
I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community which gives me insight into issues around sexuality, gender and identity. My work and life experience enable me to offer a unique, non-judgemental, open minded environment for you to share feelings and explore ideas.
I work face to face in Romsey (near Southampton) and online and am happy to have an initial phone conversation with you to see if you feel I may be able to help.

I have several years experience in private practice and I have previously been an NHS counsellor and worked in the drug and alcohol inclusion service. I now teach on the counselling degree programme for Middlesex University.
I am a registered member of the BACP and as such abide by their code of ethics for practitioners. I am fully insured.
People come to me for help a wide range of issues. Here are a few of the more common difficulties that can be supported through counselling:

Trauma and post-traumatic stress

Counselling sessions for individuals last 50 minutes, usually taking place on a weekly basis, and cost £50 per session. I also provide a limited number of spaces for those on low-income or for students; contact me to enquire about availability.
Note that if you want to cancel an appointment I require 48 hours’ notice; otherwise you will still need to pay for any sessions missed. I accept payment in cash or by bank transfer.
